The Trap of Enabling

All too many caregivers easily fall into the trap and lifestyle of enabling a loved one.  One of the reasons we do so is because we lose our identity along the way.  Read the blog post about this at www.hopeforthecaregiver.com 

Larry called in to the show and, while it started out as a caregiver related call, it quickly morphed into a teachable moment of enabling.  

A couple of the telling phrases you will hear are: 

1. "No one understands"
2. "Everyone else is saying the same thing, but ...."
3. "I've explained this to so many ..."
4. "I can't ..."
